Ahead of two friendlies against Germany and Brazil, Gareth Southgate announced his England squad on Thursday morning, and there were a number of surprise inclusions.
However, perhaps the two most eye catching new additions to the Three Lions squad were Tammy Abraham and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, both of whom would earn their first caps should they play.
Both Abraham and Loftus-Cheek are also on the books at Chelsea but are currently on loan with Swansea and Crystal Palace respectively. While Loftus-Cheek has had a mixed spell at Palace, Abraham has really impressed in South Wales, looking totally comfortable leading the line for a Premier League team.
With both players clearly good enough for international selection, it seems strange that Antonio Conte let the young stars head out on-loan in the first place, especially considering the issues that Chelsea are facing at the moment.
Judging by Twitter, it seems that a number of Chelsea fans are also hoping that the two English stars will make a return to Stamford Bridge soon
