Man United’s Mourinho uses Paul Pogba to have another dig at Conte

Jose Mourinho has aimed another dig at Chelsea boss Antonio Conte ahead of their showdown on Sunday – and has used Paul Pogba’s injury to do so.
Mourinho has claimed that had another manager been without Pogba for the time Manchester United have been forced to make do without him, there would have been far more written about it in the press – yet he hasn’t moaned apparently.
It’s not the first time he’s spoken out about Conte and his comments over injuries – but he did manage to list all his missing players while simultaneously having a go at his adversary.
The Express report he said: “It’s my fault because I should cry every week about our injuries and remind everybody, day after day or press conference after press conference.
“So it’s my fault. It’s my decision. It’s my way of dealing with problems. It’s my way of trying to motivate and respect and give confidence to the players that are going to replace those people.
“But maybe I have to reconsider my profile. I know that I moan about a lot of things but I don’t with injuries and probably I should.
“I think any other manager would be speaking about Pogba every day. ‘Oh, I don’t have Pogba. Oh, when will I have Pogba? Oh, 10 matches without Pogba.
“Oh, all the Champions League group phase without Pogba. Oh, all the big matches, against Liverpool, against Chelsea, against Spurs without Pogba. Oh.’
“I don’t speak about Pogba one single time. It’s only when you ask me about his situation.
“And it’s not just Pogba. It’s Pogba, it’s Fellaini, it’s Carrick, it’s Ibra [Zlatan Ibrahimovic], it’s Marcos Rojo. It’s a big group of players. So I think we are doing very, very well.”
Conte of course has his own issues, and is desperate to see N’Golo Kante start the game against Manchester United, with the Blues suffering heavily during the time he’s been out and injured.
There might be injury issues at United, but Chelsea have seen their thin squad depleted this season far more so than last season, and Mourinho may well have his digs at Conte, but the Italian is not taking it lying down – with the relationship between the two worse than ever.
