Spain’s coach Julen Lopetegi said today that Real Madrid midfielder Isco Alarcon will be available for the Madrid Derby against Atletico de Madrid even after being forced to leave the field of play during Spain’s win in a friendly with Costa Rica.
“He had a knock in a place where he had already received one and ended up being sore. I talked to him and the doctors and it would’ve been to much for him to play a single minute in Russia, so the best thing for him was to go back to Madrid and enjoy more time to recover. He will be available for the next game in La Liga,” said Lopetegi, confirming that Isco’s injury isn’t serious.
If Isco is finally ready to go, he should feature in Real Madrid’s starting lineup as Gareth Bale is still not ready to play after picking up yet another injury during one of the team’s training sessions.
