Nyan was prematurely born at the end of June and is believed to be fighting for his life.
Jese has been regularly travelling back to see Nyan, his third child and first with girlfriend Aurah Ruiz.
Owing to his premature birth, there had been some complications.
Jese, who is on loan with the Potters from Paris Saint-Germain, shared a video on Instagram showing off his new haircut.
The initial "N" is at the back of his head, with lines coming out of the letter and around to the front.
Alongside the video Jese wrote "Nyan, my warrior".
It is not the first time the 24-year-old Spaniard has updated people on his son's fight for life on social media.
Last month Jese, who scored the winner against Arsenal and impressed in the draws with West Brom and Manchester United, posted a heartfelt message to his son and girlfriend.
Posting a picture with Nyan in his arms, he wrote in Spanish: "If the world thinks you are not good enough, it is a LIE.
"You are the best thing that has happened to me
"Every day at your side I learn from you, your strength, your desire, your attitude of not giving up, your tenderness, your seriousness for how small you are, your way of suffering and little by little you are going ahead.
