Alan Pardew has been appointed as the new manager of West Bromwich Albion and one of his first tasks will be to decide whether to keep talented youngster Sam Field in the side for Saturday's game at home to Crystal Palace.
After an encouraging display under caretaker boss Gary Megson as West Brom drew 1-1 with Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, Field proceeded to produce another fine performance in the 2-2 draw against Newcastle United last night and found the net with a fine strike.

Field's enthusiasm and determination gave West Brom an extra edge at times against Newcastle and the midfielder is capable of helping his side retain possession.

As West Brom look to emerge from a situation that sees them in 16th place in the Premier League and without a top flight win in 12 games, it would certainly be tempting for Pardew to put his faith in experienced players as opposed to youngsters.
However, an exception can surely be made for Field, with the 19-year-old a fine talent who can thrive if given the requisite support by his manager.
