Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri has been sounded out about succeeding Antonio Conte at Chelsea.
The struggling Blues are pursuing their options, and look set to part company with Italian boss Conte at the end of the season after just two years in charge.
Highly-rated Sarri, an Italian like Conte, has emerged as a serious contender after inspiring hometown club Napoli to threaten the dominance of perennial Italian champions Juventus.
The 59-year-old is understood to have a £7million release clause, valid until May 31, in his contract.

Talks over a new deal have stalled, with Sarri said to be unwilling to make any decisions until after his side play leaders Juventus in a title decider next weekend.
Napoli sit second in Serie A, four points behind with just two defeats in their last 12 games, and their attacking style has won many plaudits.
Former Barcelona coach Luis Enrique, winner of two La Liga titles, a Champions League and three Copa del Reys and currently on sabbatical after leaving the Nou Camp at the end of last season, has so far been the favourite to take over at Stamford Bridge
