Date finally confirmed for West Ham United's home clash against Manchester City

It's taken a while for official confirmation, but West Ham fans can begin to make travel plans for thei home game against Manchester City as the date of the game has finally been announced.
The clash at the London Stadium will be played on Sunday April 29 which is exactly a week after the Irons face rivals Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
Whilst this was always the original date for the game, because of City's progress in the Champions League there was the possibility that the game could be moved if Pep Guardiola's side reached the semi-finals.
However, the Premier League leaders crashed out of Europe's elite competition at the hands of Liverpool this week and therefore have no more distractions between now and the end of the season.
In  the reverse meeting between the two teams earlier in the campaign, United took the lead before half-time through Angelo Ogbonna, but the hosts turned it around after the break thanks to goals from Nicolas Otamendi and David Silva.
City's previous visits to the London Stadium have ended in comfortable wins. 5-0 & 4-0 in the FA Cup and Premier League respectively last season and will be looking for more of the same as they hunt down a points record in the top flight of English football.
