Manchester City have spent a record £6.5m for EVERY point earned Manchester City

Pep Guardiola has needed hundreds of millions in transfer fees to bring his dream team to life

Manchester City's title win is their third in seven Premier League seasons, and their third in a decade of ownership by Sheikh Mansour - and also the costliest in the history, at more than £6.5m per point.
That figure comes from a unique Sportsmail analysis of title winners in the past decade - a period when Premier League clubs have enjoyed sustained riches but City's spending has still been head and shoulders above their rivals.
They have spent more than any club in the world on assembling their squad (£775m) and Pep Guardiola has spent more than any manager on transfers since he arrived in England two summers ago: £478m in that time, or £371m net.

City are on course to have the largest club wage bill English football has ever known, with a total of around £270m expected for this campaign.
Our analysis focuses on the cost of the 11 'core' players in each title-winning team, or the goalkeeper, defenders, midfielders and strikers with the most Premier League starts in the winning season.
To that we have added the club wage will for the season in question to produce a total spend, then divided that by the total points won by that team in that year.
So City's 'core XI' this season cost £397.5m to buy and with wages City's spend will be £667.5m.
We are forecasting a huge total of 102 points for City this season on the basis of points gained per game so far. Even with that huge points total, each one has cost £6.54m according to our method.
