Jurgen Klopp's team took a 3-0 lead into Tuesday’s quarter-final second leg at the Etihad and weathered an early storm when City’s Gabriel Jesus scored after two minutes.
The Reds absorbed relentless City pressure in the first half but put the tie beyond doubt in the second with goals from Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino ensuring a 5-1 aggregate victory and a first Champions League semi-final for a decade.
Asked if Liverpool can win the competition, Robertson said: “Yeah, I think so, yeah!
“We’re in the last four. We’re in touching distance. But we know how hard it’s going to be.
“There’s going to be no easy tie in this semi-final,” he added. “Everyone’s fighting for their lives to try to get into this final and we’ll be no different.”
Roma completed a stunning comeback to eliminate Spanish giants Barcelona and join Liverpool in the semi-final draw, which takes place on Friday 13th April.
