Brazil legend Rivaldo has backed £52million Fred to be a success at Manchester United.
United confirmed on Tuesday that they have agreed a deal to sign the 25-year-old midfielder from Shakhtar Donetsk.
Fred, who is part of the Brazil squad for the World Cup starting in Russia next week, has penned a five-year contract at Old Trafford
Rivaldo, who helped Brazil to win the World Cup in 2002, believes Fred will have no such problems.
'He's an excellent player,' said Rivaldo. 'Of course every time you go to a new country it is difficult at the beginning to adapt but I believe this will not be a problem for him.
'He is a wonderful, gifted player and I believe he is going to do well at Manchester United because he is a wonderful talent.'
Fred completed his medical at United's Carrington training ground on Monday after helping Brazil to a 2-0 victory over Croatia in their penultimate warm-up game at the weekend.
He travelled to the club's Mayfair offices in London on Tuesday to finalise his move and then took part in Brazil training at Tottenham's training ground.
Before he gets his chance to shine for United, Fred will first attempt to try to help Brazil lift the World Cup for the first time since Rivaldo was part of the victorious squad in Japan and South Korea 16 years ago.
