Manchester City are reportedly in the final stages of signing their first player in preparation for their title defence.

Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez is set to join Manchester City in a deal worth £75 million after Pep Guardiola revisited his interest after having a number of bids rejected in January.
The Algerian international will likely complete the move next week after he returns from holiday, becoming Manchester City’s record signing.
According to a report by The Mirror, negotiations regarding the agent fees are the only stumbling block left to be finalised.
Mahrez, who was one of the star men in their 2015-16 title winning season, went AWOL in January and refused to play for the Foxes as he thought the £80 million valuation was unfair. He has expressed his desire to move in the last year and was reportedly close to moving after interest from Arsenal and Manchester City.
He ended his reported feud with management in February and went on to have an impressive set of performances in Leicester’s indifferent season.
No newspapers are reporting the finer details of the deal after earlier reports in the week suggested Claude Puel identified City youngster Patrick Roberts as a replacement, after he is viewed as not a first-team player after spending the last two seasons with Celtic.
