Sam Allardyce is odds-on to become the next Everton manager – and it seems he is already drawing up his backroom staff.
Reports on Monday morning claim Allardyce has held talks with Blues majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri over the possibility of replacing the sacked Ronald Koeman.
The former England boss is known to be keen on the job and delivered a barely-disguised pitch for the job when writing a column for Paddy Power at the weekend.
Moshiri will make the final decision regarding Koeman's replacement, with advice from the Goodison board.
And Allardyce has now emerged as a clear front-runner, with it understood he wants to recently sacked Leicester City boss Craig Shakespeare as his assistant manager and former Wales international Martyn Margetson as goalkeeping coach.
Moshiri, though, has been advised Allardyce would not be a popular appointment among the Everton fanbase.
David Unsworth has been in temporary charge since Koeman was dismissed last month, winning his first game on Sunday with a dramatic 3-2 triumph over Watford.
