Paul Merson states his prediction for Man United v Newcastle

Paul Merson believes Manchester United will come out on top in a must-win game against Newcastle United on Saturday evening.

The Red Devils will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing 1-0 loss to defending Premier League champions Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last time out.
Manchester United have only managed to collect four points from their last four Premier League games following losses to Huddersfield Town and Chelsea.
Jose Mourinho’s men played out a goalless draw with Liverpool at Anfield at the start of October, while a 1-0 victory over Tottenham was their only win in their last four Premier League games.
The 20-time English champions are in second place and eight points behind current leaders Manchester City with 27 games to play in the 2017-18 campaign.
Newcastle make the trip to Old Trafford in Saturday’s late kick-off as former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez looks to frustrate Manchester United.
Ex-Arsenal midfielder Merson is tipping Manchester United to ease a close-fought win against the Magpies at Old Trafford.
“It is a must-win game for United as if I get my earlier results right, Man City will be clear and then they will need to win,” Merson told Sky Sports.
“Man Utd have good fixtures coming up, but it will be a difficult game.”
Merson added: “United are not far away, if I am being honest…. I know they went to Liverpool and Chelsea and did not score.
“I think the plan was to beat the lesser teams and do not get beat by the big teams, but getting beat by Huddersfield has put them behind the eight ball and so they have to win.”
Manchester United haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013 when Sir Alex Ferguson won his final top-flight crown at the Old Trafford outfit.
The Red Devils finished in sixth place in the Premier League table last term
