Real Madrid have a better chance of signing Eden Hazard than his Chelsea team-mate Thibaut Courtois, according to ESPN FC pundit and former Liverpool defender Steve Nicol.
“I think there’s more chance of Hazard going,” Nicol said. “There aren’t that many great goalkeepers around to be honest, certainly in the world class mode.
“Courtois’ world class, Courtois will be, if he wants to be, and I’m sure Chelsea want him to be there for the next 10 years.
“I just don’t see that (move) happening.
“Hazard on the other hand, I think there’s more of a possibility of that happening. At the end of the day money does talk, we saw that with Neymar.
“So of the two, I think Hazard would be and could be the one that would go. [But] I don’t think it will be this season.”
ntonio Conte wants Real Madrid target Thibaut Courtois' future sorted at Chelsea, with his contract expiring in 2019.
“I like to also to give my opinion about technical decisions but it is also important for the club to face this issue, this contract with Courtois.
“I think that Thibaut didn't need my opinion. He knows very well what are my thoughts about him.
“I can tell you he is one of the best, maybe the best goalkeeper in the world and he is a player very important for Chelsea, but the renewal of contract is a task for the club.
“As you know very well if a big player decides to not sign a new contract it is difficult for the club to face this issue but at the same time there is space to deal with this type of situation and to solve the situation but in this season.”
