Former Real Madrid and Man City player to join Barca

Pozo, 21, enjoyed stints at the academy of both Real Madrid and City before moving on a permanent deal to Algeria in 2015.

The forward, who boasts a handful of Spain U21 caps, started his football career in Malaga before being snapped up by Real at the age of 11.

He failed to make the grade in Madrid and made four first-team appearances for City before being let go.

But now Pozo is on Barcelona’s radar, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish radio station Onda Cero (via Sport) claim Barca are closing in on a January deal.

The club are worried their Barcelona B side are struggling Spain’s second tier and is in desperate need of a boost up front.

Pozo has scored just twice for Almeria all season.
