Risk or not, Steven Gerrard is a box office appointment at Rangers

The Daily Record report he met with the Rangers hierarchy in London yesterday, shaking hands on a three-year deal which is set to be signed on Friday.The paper say Gerrard is only taking the job having been promised the transfer funds that can help the club compete with Celtic next season.
The Gerrard to Rangers saga has rumbled on all week but after the Anfield legend fulfilled media duties surrounding Liverpool’s progress to the UEFA Champions League final, it appears to be finally coming to a conclusion.


As a player he was a born winner and a leader of the dressing room at one of the world’s biggest clubs. That reputation and stature will at least come some way to commanding respect at Ibrox.
