The Welshman is widely expected to leave the Santiago Bernabeu after six seasons and was left as an unused substitute for the final game of the season in the 2-0 defeat to Real Betis.
It is understood that Zidane left the club originally last summer due to a disagreement over Bale and Calderon believes president Florentino Perez now has no choice but to back the manager's decision.
"Zidane has made it clear that he decided to resign last year because the president [Fiorentino Perez] didn’t accept his decisions," he told Sky Sports. "On the other hand the president decided to keep Bale as his most expensive signing ever.
"Perez doesn’t want to accept that he was wrong when he thought Bale could be the leader of this team when Cristiano [Ronaldo] left. It’s a big problem now but it's difficult for Bale to be at Madrid knowing the opinion of the coach.
"When he was asked to come back by the president in the middle of the season he said publicly that he would have all the power. If those powers are there he will have to accept the recommendation of the coach."
